1.copyright- is a law passed by the constitution to protect the works of people to protect them from being copied.
2.fair use - a guideline that sets how much of a copyrighted work can be used without permission.
3.for sale doctrine- if you own an idea you can do whatever you want with it. once you sell it, you can't do anything.
4.intellectual property- an idea that is in your mind. unless you write it down, somebody can steal it.
5. patent- a document that states only you can use an idea or invention.
6.permission- you are allowed to re-use a piece of work.
7. phonorecord- a new technology that allows digital formats of work to be copyrighted.
8.plagiarism- to steal an idea and say it is your own.
9.public domain- a copyright that has expired, or works created by government employees that can be used without permission.
10.trademark- a word or symbol that is copyrighted, such as the Macintosh apple.
